Fresh food truck with a west coast flair.  Serving up our signature Beatrice beef burger with truck-made pickled beets and Coconut Lime curry to name a few menu items.  Check out his truck that will be featured on Eat St. episode in the upcoming 5th season.

The service was amazing and everyone looked like they were really having fun!  Everything looked really good on the menu, but because they are known the Beatrice Burger I had to try it.  WOW, I normally don't like beets, but these almost tasted like candy - they were sweet and delicious.  The burger was super moist and juicy topped with vancouver island sauce that was out of this world!  The side of fresh fried vegetable chips went perfectly with this burger, consisting of beets, yams and potatoes that were lightly salted with a chipotle mayo dip.

Food Truck Fesitval Kick Off

The Food truck Festival kicked off this weekend and it was a great way to start off food truck season. I was surprised at how many food trucks were able to fit into the back of the Royal BC Museum.  There were a total of 5 trucks, and everything smelled so good, and it was difficult to pick which one to eat at, but I managed to narrow it down to Deadbeetz.  I really liked the seating arrangements that were provided, it was recycled wooden pallets and spools, made for an interesting vibe.  Overall, I highly recommend that you check out what's available - good luck narrowing it down to only one!

I just saw this article from Victoria Buzz News, that there is going to be a summer long food truck festival.  Located in the back courtyard of the Royal BC Museum.

But don’t worry, the Royal BC Museum has you covered, as it rolls out its first ever Food Truck Festival! This summer-long event is sure to be a hit.
Starting with a half-festival May 1 and full slate of food trucks May 8, the Royal BC Museum’s back courtyard will be transformed into an international food fair, featuring some of the finest food trucks in Victoria.

Dave's Craves: Tacofino

Tacofino
Monday - Sunday 11am - 11pm
787 Fort St
(778) 406-1787
@TacofinoVIC

The BEST tacos I've ever had!  Seriously!  If you are downtown you have to stop by for a bite to eat.  The staff are wonderful and super helpful in making a selection.  The atmosphere is super chill and very welcoming.  They have an open concept kitchen and you can watch them make the taco's right in front of you.  Really love the idea of communal tables, makes you enjoy the experience and food that much more I think.

I ordered the Crispy Chicken Taco and it was delicious.  Made with the freshest ingredients I've had in a taco ever.

Dave's Craves

I figured that during the off season that Food Trucks aren't around as much (there like bears hibernating...)  I am adding another page to this blog called Dave's Craves.  The new additional page is going to cover places that I've tried, that aren't a Food Truck.  With living in Victoria, one of the places with the highest food establishments per capita, I figured that other places that were worth noting needed their own pages.

Hope you enjoy, as much as I enjoy eating at them.

Go on, get out there... Try something new!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, it's now 2015 and  I'm looking forward to trying out even more food trucks this year.
I might also be adding extra places I've visited on here to, even though their not food trucks ;-) Some places are just too good to keep to yourself.

The PNE at Vancouver

At the PNE in Vancouver, so there won't be any posts about local food trucks from Victoria this week.
There are so many food trucks here,  I hope to be able to enjoy some of them!
